Guidelines for speakers:

Each London LASER event will present three talks by artists, scientists, scholars, inventors, curators, historians, etc. The talks are not thematically linked and should represent diverse fields of research and practice in the arts and sciences. London LASER will confirm the programme for each event at least one month ahead.

Talks should:

  • address interconnections of art, science and technology,
  • be informal and aimed at a (curious and intelligent) lay audience,
  • encourage debate and discussion,
  • be a maximum of 20 minutes long to allow 10 minutes for discussion (they can be shorter if more discussion is desired).

Speakers can deliver a traditional talk or can take a creative/performative approach.

Speakers are asked to send a short description of their talk and a biog when confirming participation, 80-100 words in length, with any urls that connect to the content of the talk.

All talks will be videoed and posted on the London LASER vimeo channel and website. By agreeing to talk, you agree to have your talk filmed and posted online.

London LASER is a ‘community of practice’ event with no budget for speaker’s fees. We may be able to assist with travel expenses for speakers outside of London.
